Can't boot - Even with flags
0

Question

Hi guys,

I downloaded Niresh's image and wrote it to USB.

After I installed Mavericks it says I have to reboot.

After rebooting I get a Kernel Panic.

I decide to reboot and I get stuck at a white screen with a Apple Logo and after 1 minute a stop sign or something like this appears.

I tried to boot with flags but it didn't work. Even -f, -f or -x flags didn't work.

SETUP: INTEL i7-4770K

GIGABYTE Z87-D3HP

NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 770

G.SKILL ARES 1600MHz 16GB RAM

Hope you can help me.

Greetings c00kie

Use "UseKernelCache=No GraphicsEnabler=No -v -x" flags

Hi

I tried to boot with your flags but I get stuck at "Still waiting for root device".

Post your BIOS settings, specially for SATA and S.M.A.R.T (if there). From here it looks like SATA is IDE and it should be AHCI.

serial port 0 enabled but empty? My friend's laptop had HDD here (no access right now).

If you are sure you have not messed with port configuration then try this :

  1. Boot up using Niresh USB.
  2. Select Terminal from the Installer’s Utility Menu.
  3. Enter following commands :
  4. cp -pr /Volumes/<name of your installer usb>/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* /Volumes/<target mac hd>/System/Library/Extensions/

chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/<target mac hd>/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*
chmod -R 755 /Volumes/<target mac hd>/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*

Now booth with UseKernelCache=No -f -v

Note : Replace <target mac hd> with name of your actual mac os partition.

Post results.
