Installing OSX to a Partition
0

Question

Hello. This is my first Hackintosh build, and I've gotten stuck on formatting my drive with Disk Utility.

I've read that Niresh has built in support for MBR installation. My problem is that I am trying to install OSX to a partition on my secondary internal hard drive. Whenever I use Disk Utility to format the drive, I recieve the message "Disk Encryption failed. Disk Erase failed with the error: MediaKit reports not enough space on device for requested operation."

My hard drive is 3TB, with a small OSX partition with 23GB size. I would like to try and avoid wiping the drive. I also cannot use alternate installers because I am running an AMD-FX processor.

What do I need to do to be able to format this partition as a Mac OS Extended partition?

Thank you for your help.
