Poor performance AMD FX-8350 - GTX 580
1 1

Question

Hi guys, newbie here.

I have some issues with the performance of my Yosemite install, I'm new to all this so please be easy on me.

My setup is

AMD FX-8350

Asus GTX 580 (1.5gb)

12GB Ram

Gigabyte 990XA UD3

I used the Niresh USB installer and after some messing about I managed to get it working, I'm using the correct web nvidia drivers and it all runs quite smoothly.

I did feel as if the performance was a little lacklustre, so I did a few tests with Cinebench R15, my CPU score is 322 and OpenGL 45fps. I did identical tests on windows 7 (I have 4 hard disks installed) and the performance was more or less double, CPU 600, OpenGL 93fps.

I've looked at the Chameleon Wizard, and I don't appear to have a smbios.plist?  Is this where my problem is?

Can I also add that I made another Hackintosh for my partner, using exactly the same install methods. She has a AMD A8-6600K, I couldn't get the on chip GFX working, so I bought a cheap GT610 for it, all working well, and it's faster than my 8 core in Cinebench (CPU).

Anyone any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Like I said, I'm new at all this.

Many thanks

Steve
