Problems booting up Installer

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, just created an account here a few days ago.

It's been a while since I don't create a Hackintosh, last time I did it was with Leopard, and now I'm trying to install mavericks, but when I boot to the usb, this is the last screen I see, after this, I get a black screen, it's in verbose mode, also have tried with -x flag and no luck.

Without verbose it hangs at the grey screen with apple logo.

Not sure how I can get through this, so I hope somebody could gave me a hand.

Here are my specs:

i7 4820k

Asrock x79 Extreme4

Nvidia GTX780

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

No answers yet :(

I have tried now some kexts I have found for my motherboard, using another pendrive, downloading again the .dmg.

Does someone now if my hardware is compatible?

For anyone interested and future users with problems, I managed to boot it, just used the dmg for my motherboard from rampagedev, copied the mach_kernel and boots.

Now when everything is loaded and I am supossed to get the language selection screen in the installer, I just get an gray screen where I can see the mouse, but it moves really slowly.

Maybe someone could help me here, as this issue should be more common.

I have the EXACT same problem. Black screen with -v or hangs on apple logo with no -v. I have tried like every version and options of boot command. I am going to try using the dmg files but I am not quite sure how to. I have intel 6 core, same motherboard, ATI R9 280 3GB, 32GB ram, samsung 500GB SSD. I need a fix!

    • Same problem here. Did you solve this?
    • I was having an issue with installing High Sierra because I was getting this error OsxAptioFix2Drv: starting overrides for /System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no I tried all the fixes that everyone was telling me about replacing the file with a different one but nothing worked. Finally I came across a post from some person who had a laptop that was designed like mine. I have the Aspire A515-51. The weird thing is that it has 8gb of ram installed. There is 4gb that is soldered to the motherboard and one 4gb ram in the only ram slot. Well this person stated that if he removed the 4gb ram that was installed in the ram slot the install would move past the error and install. I tried it and WOW it worked. I was able to complete the install and everything worked just fine but the wifi. So I hope this helps someone, but I am also hoping that someone can help me with the issue of the ram. I can't add the ram back into the ram slot or the boot will stall at  OsxAptioFix2Drv: starting overrides for /System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no
