10.9 Graphics Issue

Question

dylanyasen    1

After about 2x10 hours  battling  i finally get  Maverick 10.9  working on my   Acer Aspire E1-471G

But problems still exist.  Graphic problem is the major one.

.

screen flickers  in launchpad and safari,  and keep asking me to download flash,  but when i get into adobe flash website, it just keeps

reloading by itself.

i have a intel hd 4000 card and a discrete card: GeForce GT 630M

roughly my boot setting : nothing to mention but   maybe    GraphicsEnabler = No by default.

if i set it "on", "128M for intel hd is not supported, you need to change it to 64 or blah blah..." will appear  when mac booting

i think system didnt recognize my graphic card(s) due to driver issue

So, firstly, in mac system info it shows

mac_1.jpg

mac_2.jpg

i'd great appreciate if you could help me   :)

thank you

btw  my graphic cards' info  is in the attachment files.  sorry for the trouble,  i wish i could just put it here.

thanks again

thanks for your reply  buddy :)

just a quick question

in my BIOS  there is a tag for graphic card that has  2 option :  switchable  and integrated.

i tried to do some research, couldnt find similar bios option as mine.

Which one do you think i should choose?

thank you

So, after messing around i little bit.

this is what i did:

1.  added to chameleon boot.plist

<key>InjectIntel-ig</key>
<string>01006601</string>
<key>IntelCapriFB</key>
<string>1</string>

2. Change my graphics setting   in BIOS from switchable to intergraded

3. added in boot plist
<key>device-properties</key> <string>5e0000000100000001000000520000000100000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601</string>

this is what i get:
it seems like system recognized my intel hd4000
in system info it says

Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

however, i still get flickers when i drag windows or Launchpad.

I can't watch youtube.

Please help !

i just realized that i can actually  watch videos on youtube  by using  google chrome.

just a quick update

chrome doesn't need much hardwares acceralation that's why you are able to watch videos ,,,

try to change frame buffer capri in .plist from 1 to 11 which suites you better

just a quick update and keep the experiment

current plist:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>PciRoot<key>
<string>1</string>
<key>InjectIntel-ig</key>
<string>0b006601</string>
<key>IntelCapriFB</key>
<string>11</string>
<string>npci=0x2000 dart=0</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>device-properties</key> <string>5e0000000100000001000000520000000100000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601</string>

BIOS setting: Switchable

result:
System detect Inter HD 4000 correctly.

Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

(detect GeForce as well but with 0 VRam)

issue:
1.flickering still exists.
2.when booting boot loader  throw an error :   "error occur when booting, pause for 5 sec"
can boot in to system however
(i think this error is :
i remember when i used other boot loader,   if i  set  graphics enabler = yes
it gave me an error said that i have to set my vram in bios to 64m 32m and .....
mine was 128m in bios
)

next:
gonna try to change back to intergraded in bios

    • Saludos!   Tengo el mismo error (RAM a 667mhz), con una placa base ASUS (y mi cpu es el fx 6300).   Lograste solucionarlo?
    • Hi guys. Well, this is my second day of troubles, I touched everything, I installed max like 5 times in the same day, trying to figure out things and well. My Mac it display my graphic card on the #About this Mac tab With 2047MB ( So I guess all is right ) I installed the latest nvida drivers and on clover I activated the NvidaWeb. The problem is the resolution. Max resolution allowed is 1280 x 1024 and 800 x 600. I used to boot with nvd_drv 1 with nvd dry 0, I used to boot with all that things, and without them.  BUT No way to fix the resolution. Someone knows what-s going wrong and how can I fix it? Bdw im using iMac14,2 and OS X Sierra 10.12.3 Im connecting to the screen with DVI adapter. ( Maybe that causes the problem ) But it shows Im running 2047 MB so... idk why I can't change resolution. Thanks! ================================= SOLVED EDIT: Hi guys, in Display Resolution, I just set it in "Default for display" and after that pressing "THE WINDOWS BUTTON KEY, IN MY CASE, IDK WHAT KEY IS THAT IN MAC KEYBOARD, I THINK THE CONTROL ONE OR IDK" PRESSING that key I selected Scaled, and it appears more options and resolutions. There is a video on youtube about that called "Mac OS X Display Resolution" If someone has the same trouble.
