Mavericks 10.9.1 unwanted auto-update problem

Recommended Posts

I've reintalled my osx two times because an unwanted 10.9.2 update.

When I update from 10.9.1 to 10.9.2 my hackintosh gets loop reboots. That's why I don't want to update the osx until Niresh fix that problem.

I decided to disable the options to auto-update from here: System Preferences / App Store / and I unchecked everything in here but "Check automaticly for an updates".

Right now after two hours of working on hackintosh I got a pop up saying that new updates are waiting for install and it lets me know that I have to reboot pc :(  I know it wont boot again, but why it downloaded it?

Where it keeps the downloaded update - so I can manually delete it before I restart PC ?

ok, sorry for bother - I just needed to uncheck all of the option inside AppStore. And You can hide updates by right click on them and "Hide Update". That way You won't be getting annoying information about them.

    • I am looking to do a Hackintosh on a 14-inch computer.  I wanted to do it on an Aero 14 inch i7-8750h, but the laptop is discontinued.  I am firm on a 14-inch laptop.  I want to be able to upgrade the parts later down the road to keep the laptop current.  Any help on another 14-inch laptop would be much appreciated.
