I need some help with my first installation.

Question

Munank    0

Sup guys.

I have managed to install OS X Maverick 10.9 on my ThinkPad E430 without any additional settings.

But now, I need some info about what to do next!

Also, I can only boot using "-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No"

I believe that I need to install drivers for my Intel HD Graphics 4000.

I am going to right now.

But, I think that -f has something to do with the CPU.

I don't know but I think I've read about it somewhere.

A total newbie here.

My question is: Now, I only have to find the drivers and try to install and I will not need to do "-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No" again?

Or do I have to edit something to have it always enabled?

Also, what exactly are -v -x -f for?

I believe that -v is for safe boot and -f is something about the CPU, but I am not sure.

-x I have no idea.

With the info, I might be able to find why I need to write them for it to boot properly.

Also, my specs:

ThinkPad E430 with:

6GB RAM

Intel HD Graphics 4000

Intel Core i5-2450M processor (dual-core, 2.50GHz, 3MB Cache)

HDD: 500GB (5400rpm)

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

ThinkPad UltraNav™ TrackPoint® with multigesture touchpad

I don't want you guys searching drivers for me, that would be horrible.

But, rules are rules, so, I am just placing them here (my specs).

Also, it may help to know why I need "-v -f -x GraphicsEnabler=No" everytime.

Thanks!

Hi mate !

Here it is for your bootflags :

http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/01/list-of-common-hackintosh-boot-flags_29.html

So yeah, there is something with ur graphic card obviously, make sure you installed your Intel kexts in "/System/Library/Extensions" using "Kext Wizard", and Repair permissions and Rebuild cache, it could helps. Installing ur graphic cards should remove some bootflags hopefully. But if there is still problems, you can edit your "Org.chameleon.Boot.plist" using "Chameleon Wizard" if you got Chameleon Bootloader or the Clover Configurator if you got Clover, to boot everytime with a bootflag.

Hope it will help you.

Man, thanks a lot for your help!

And I've been trying since this morning to install everything. What an adventure.

I had to re-install it 4 times now, because, I messed it up.

But, well! Living and learning!

I've bookmarked that bootflag page because it is awesome.

And by the way, what do you think about using Multibeast?

I am going to try it now. I found a page that could give me a little help with it.

I don't know if I feel bad about so many mistakes.

I feel like experiencing Windows 98 for the first time again.

So many broken machines...

See ya soon again with more news!

Man, still nothing.

I think I am doing it wrong.

-Update-

I am giving up for a while of installing it on my ThinkPad. I am going to try it on my Desktop. I think he is more compatible.

    • Hi guys. Well, this is my second day of troubles, I touched everything, I installed max like 5 times in the same day, trying to figure out things and well. My Mac it display my graphic card on the #About this Mac tab With 2047MB ( So I guess all is right ) I installed the latest nvida drivers and on clover I activated the NvidaWeb. The problem is the resolution. Max resolution allowed is 1280 x 1024 and 800 x 600. I used to boot with nvd_drv 1 with nvd dry 0, I used to boot with all that things, and without them.  BUT No way to fix the resolution. Someone knows what-s going wrong and how can I fix it? Bdw im using iMac14,2 and OS X Sierra 10.12.3 Im connecting to the screen with DVI adapter. ( Maybe that causes the problem ) But it shows Im running 2047 MB so... idk why I can't change resolution. Thanks! ================================= SOLVED EDIT: Hi guys, in Display Resolution, I just set it in "Default for display" and after that pressing "THE WINDOWS BUTTON KEY, IN MY CASE, IDK WHAT KEY IS THAT IN MAC KEYBOARD, I THINK THE CONTROL ONE OR IDK" PRESSING that key I selected Scaled, and it appears more options and resolutions. There is a video on youtube about that called "Mac OS X Display Resolution" If someone has the same trouble.
