To many letters in boot!!

I have a HP G6-1220SA.

I am trying to install 10.9 Mavericks on it but I can't boot into the installer.

I boot with the flags 'arch=x86_64 -v -x' (AMD Processor)

I get RIGHT to the end but it says:

If you wish to boot the system type:

When I try to type exit, one letter becomes many more. For example it would be eeeeeeeexxxxxxxxiiiiiiiittttttttt and I cannot boot into the installer. This is the only way I can boot into the installer.

Previously, I have installed Mavericks on the SAME computer and back then (2 months ago) I could type 'exit' without error.

Please help as I want to install Mac OS X on my laptop.
