USB not working after update

Question

USB not working after update

Hi,

First of all I want to thank you guys for the great work. Secondly ... I am a completely new (not to say noob) into hackintosh.

I have a strange problem on my z600 HP workstation.

I used Serra zone and all went smooth. Managed to make it work except for my video card. I own a nvidia 1060. Apparently I can't make the drivers work because I get macOS Sierra 10.12.3 installed with this method. I upgraded to macOS Sierra 10.12.4 using apple store update like a native mac would do but I get one problem. USB ports( I only have usb 2.0 on this workstation) stop to work. I messed with the Clover configurations(in the boot menu) and changed things around till a point where I made it work after the update. I then installed the video card but it requires restart ... and guess what ... I have no idea what settings I used to make it work:P

As I said earlier I am new to this and I don;t really know a lot of things about hackintosh or clover:) I guess the update is replacing some Kexts for the usd ... so my question is ... is there a way to install macOS Sierra 10.12.4 instead of macOS Sierra 10.12.3 ? Or anyone has any tips for me on how to best update to macOS Sierra 10.12.4 so I don;t get kexts replaced?

Thank you,

Coss

Hey when i tryed to update to 12.4 (nvidia 1060 founders 6gb) i got allot of sandbox errors, could you elaborate wich customize options you changed and what you did after updating? did you put kexts in extra clover folder or in s/l/e also what kernel changes did you aply? i cant seem to rebuild te prelinked kernel because of probally my incompatible kernel
i have an amda a8 8650 apu and i used the amd kernel on http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Patched_Kernels for 10.12.4

Sorry for being unable to help with clover ATM i am not home so i dont know all the options, i reccomend you write down what you try..

Hi,

I did nothing, just updated from the apple store like any native macOS users would. I only have this USB problem now ...

Quick update. I reinstalled the macOS 10.12.3 and then updated to 10.12.4 using the appstore. I now use old keyboard and mouse that connect via PS2 or something and could do all rest of stuff, like install nvidia drivers and my nvidia 1050 works well.

I only have this one problem with the usb ports. They are not seen in System Information either. When I click on USB there I get : No information found.

I believe this might be a clover configuration problem ... Please note that usb ports were working just fine on Sierra 10.12.3.

Any tips would be very appreciated ...

Txs,

Coss

What you can try is enabling echiacquire (sorry cant remember it 100%) and enabling it in your bios configuration, although i think it should do this automaticly when installing.
This could fix it if not you could try looking into usbinjectall for sierra in google wich should also work.

BTW: I suppose you got an intel cpu? Guess i cannot get the kernel to work properly.. i have amd so...

Just a quick update:

I managed to solve it. Found the right clover settings on a different forum and everything is working well now. Have a few things to still solve, like a background noise when audio runs thru headphones or facetime. Other than that ... didn't notice anything to run in a bad way. My GTX 1060 works great.

Cheers,

Coss
