  4. HI GUYS. THIS IS MY FIRST TUTORIAL ON RUNNING MAC OS X ON INTEL PCs. Lets get started. Requirements - iATKOS s3 v2 ( found from iatkos.me ) - Dell Optiplex 780 ( for this tutorial ) A) Make a DVD You will need a DVD with the capacity of 4.7 GB You can burn the ISO with Windows Disk Burner Booting from the DVD You need to boot from the DVD you have just created. Boot into your BIOS by pressing F2 Go down to boot sequence and then click on "boot from DVD or USB" then the up button. Then exit out of BIOS. (P.S - If you haven't dual booted as yet, it should detect the DVD and boot from it) C) Installing Snow Leopard 10.6.3 The screen will show the Cameleon Bootloader saying to boot from iAtkos. Press any key to boot to the iAtkos install You will have to wait at least 10 minutes for the installation to start. It will show the language selection screen. Select your language and click next. Then after a 1-2 minutes it will show you the install screen. At the top you will see utilities Click on it and you will see " DISK UTILITY" Click on that and you will see a pop up. In the pop up you will see your main disk Below that you will see "untitled" if you have windows on your computer already Disk OS2 if you have a separate empty partition cLICK ON dISK OS 2 You will see beside it the system file type and it's name. Change the file type to Mac OS X Extended (Journled) Change the name to whatever you wish and click erase and then erase again(I NAMED IT Mac OS X) Click on next, agree, customize and choose what you need in the menu. Click next. it will install Mac OS X. After about 30 minutes your computer will reboot. D) Booting in Mac OS X After the reboot, your computer might not boot. So booting into an OS requires the DVD you burnt. So put in your DVD and reboot ur computer. Then press F12 on the loading screen and boot from ur DVD. The chameleon Bootloader will appear. Press F8. Move the selector to the the apple logo and boot into it. The MAC OS will now boot and will give you the setup screen. Do the setup. And you are in Mac OS X. E) Getting network. Many people do not get network. In this case you have to find the drivers for your internet connector. Many of them are supported by ralinktech and you can get the drivers from mediatek. If you can't find the drivers, you can buy a tp-link tl-wn321g usb wireless connector or a similar device. It gets you wi-fi out of the box. Install 3x7x drivers from mediatek for this usb connector. Open ralink wireless utility and connect to ur wireless network and you have a fully funtional iMac. F) Getting sound Many people have problems with sound. In this case you can buy a Genius speaker and get sound out of the box as well. This post is by X-TUTORIALS. NEED HELP, EMAIL-sampuranb@hotmail.com
