  1. Hello all, This is purely cosmetic, but still infuriating...! Most of my favorites in the finder sidebar display plain folders instead of the proper icons. A screenshot is attached. It's strange though how the icons are visible when changing the Finder preferences, and I checked the folder: /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources ...and all the icons are there! Anyone know why this might be and how to fix it?
  2. AMD Radeon R7 260x QE/CI

Trying to sort out the above GPU to no avail... I have read posts that say it is supported in Yosemite, and seen people who have managed to get it working. AMD8000Controller.kext AMDRadeonX4000.kext The above kexts already include the ID '0x66401002', system info app seems to recognise the "AMD Bonaire XTX" device but how do I get OS X to join everything up and use the kexts? Installing them doesn't do anything, and I've tried to 'inject ATI' with clover but maybe I'm not doing it right. The graphics shows as 7mb, which is clearly no good... I thought I may need a DSDT because RampageDev has got a load of stuff on AMD cards but apparently I can't have a DSDT for my Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P motherboard so... for my sanity I've decided to seek help. Anyone know why this card refuses to work when the system supposedly supports it?
  3. I'm struggling to get my Radeon R7 260x GPU working properly in Yosemite, the best shot I have is as follows: "Add your Device-ID (0x66401002) into AMD8000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonX4000.kext under <key>AMDBonaireGraphicsAccelerator</key>" I have all the AMD kexts situated in S/L/E but they don't appear in kext wizard... This would mean they're not loaded, right..? Do I need to install AMD8000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonX4000.kext before I can do anything to them, or have any chance getting the GPU acceleration to work? If anyone could put me out of my misery it would be amazing, kexts are a bit of a mystery still and I'm cautious of killing the whole system... Thanks!
  4. BUMP. Ah... Saw this post on google and thought yes me too! Got an AMD Radeon R7 260x and graphics are only 7mb, was hoping you'd found the answer. Surely someone must know... Please help if you can!
  5. Hi all, So near to a breakthrough but I need some help... AMD FX 6300 AMD Radeon R7 260x Gigabyte GA-970-UD3P Existing Windows 7 on local HD Using Yosemite 10.10.1 distro via a USB key, it seemed to install successfully to a seperate HDD but after restarting it just boots into Windows, and I can see in the UEFI/BIOS that boot priority has been altered so that my Yosemite HD is at the top. I have booted into the USB and tried to select the Yosemite HD, and this looks right but when I enter the same bootflags as before: amd64 -v npci=0x3000 ...it says can't find systemlibrarykernelsamd64 and using HFSExplorer, I can see it's there! amd64 is there! If I can find it, why can't it?! I did have the same error when trying to install, BUT I moved the 'amd64' file from the root of the USB and into systemlibrarykernels because that's where it was looking for it. Is that normal? I haven't found anyone else who had to do that but it worked for the install, annoying now it doesn't work to boot. Can anyone please help? Many thanks! Tom
