I don't understand what do you mean. You can download the kernel just up this page. Apply combo patch and then replace old kernel (the kernel that combo update will install on your PC) by this new one.
It is exactly what i did. Combo Update install a new kernel but it isn't for AMD processors. once you install it you sould boot using a pendrive or a backup partition to replace the old kernel by this new one. I have an AMD Phenom II X4, R9 270X, Gigabyte motherboard and it works well
