  1. DSMOS Has Arrived

How would I install FakeSMC? I followed Niresh's steps to create the bootable USB and that's all I have tried, including using various flags.
  2. Hi Everyone - I have been on here for a while not and got Mavericks (10.9) installed on one of my servers. I am trying to get Yosemite (10.10) installed on my new server and am having problems getting beyond the black screen. Can someone "sign off" on my hardware to make sure that it can fully support Yosemite or Mavericks before I keep trying? Thanks. 3. Yosemite - Black screen at boot after new install

I found the culprit at another forum. The HP i-* laptops need the cpus=1 flag. I haven't seen this one listed on this forum yet but it works. So, looks like the Yosemite build from Niresh does not account for some of the HP (or all?) laptops. I ended up creating a new build with UniBeast and the actual Yosemite download from the App Store and added the flags I needed. Works like a charm.
  4. Yosemite - Black screen at boot after new install

Alright, I am giving up. Maverick works fine on this laptop and Yosemite works fine on my tower. Something is going with the Yosemite build for HP laptops.
  5. Yosemite - Black screen at boot after new install

I just booted again with only the -v flag. Same results as the screenshot that I shared in my first post with the exception that I am now getting a value. rooting via boot-uuid from /chosen: 6A14D606-51F4-3B98-95 I searched Google for this string but can't find anything that makes sense. Looking at the screenshot, it looks like there are a bunch of ACPI errors.
  6. Yosemite - Black screen at boot after new install

@sparkie5571, I tried adding the /amd1 command and end up with a "EHC2: family specific matching fails" error message. It's an i5 Intel processor. Why would I need to add the AMD flag?
  7. Yosemite - Black screen at boot after new install

Hi Guys - Is nobody able to answer this one or provide general guidance? Thanks,
  8. My HP laptop's specs: HP Pavilion DM4-1253cl Core i5-460M 6 GB DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 500GB HDD I was able to successfully install the latest zone build with the /hp flag. After booting into the OS with a dedicated drive, I am seeing the loading bar. About 2/3rd through, the screen turns black and the laptop's fans spin up while the laptop is getting hot. I booted with "-v GraphicsEnabler=No" Are there specific parameters I should at install time outside of the /hp one when instlling? I am using the default install options. Thanks everyone...
  9. DSMOS Has Arrived

I have an older HP dm4-1253cl laptop and I am trying to install Niresh's Yosemite. After trying various boot arguments like cpus=1 (won't boot without this enabled) as well as -v and -x and USBBusFix=Yes, etc. I am now seeing the "DSMOS has arrived" message and nothing happens after that. I am trying to follow Niresh's advice on booting into the kernel using the -s argument. How would I do this when trying to install via the USB stick? Is this a post-install process?
