  1. Just a heads up for those who are installing osx Mavericks on a desktop, buy an external graphic from nvidia and avoid AMD graphic card(AMD cards work but hard to get drivers or search before hand for graphic card).Preferrably nvidia GT210 as base. I had tried installing on X1950 but it is unsupported and has created a great problem for my motherboard. Also any processor would work so long as external graphic card is compatible(though latest one would do for intel and for Amd as well). Avoid left over machine parts, you have in your house as you might end up spending alot of time it like I did before finally giving up.I have tried Mountain lion and Mavericks on AMD with nvidia and it works out of the box.As for drivers multibeast or Mac Poison can do the rest of the work. Now I have uninstalled because i dont have any new applications compared to windows one.Once I have downloaded them i might make OSX exclusive machine. I actually downladed Maverick OSX Vanilla 10.9.0 and used Nireshs Macpwn from this site to make bootloader. Still waiting for Yosemite Macpwn stability with AMD support. No need to add extra Kexts for Mavericks as Macpwn adds it.Just for Extra Kernel I added AMD, AMD64 and AMDFX.It also installed very quickly. Also I have come to realise AMD with dual graphics will not let me install Mavericks on Laptop.Even the Bios is locked and I cant do much with it.Avoid AMD Dual graphics as well. There is a success rate of only 10%.When I say Amd processor I mean APU's not FX .But i did not buy it for OS X though. Use a processor which is Intel or AMD Fx bought in 2010 so that you can enjoy OSX with Mavericks and avoid AMD graphic whether laptop unless Apple has the same graphic card in their product list.Which seriously I can't say much. Cheers!!!
  2. Hi I wanted to let you know I installed ML on an external HDD which i had on my AMD APU A4-6300 with Quadro 570 working out of the box.Now my concern are below 1)I want to install a dual boot on my celeron 430 conroe with ASUS p5gc 1333 MX with an old X1950pro. Either mavericks or Yosemite since the machine is lying about and I have overclocked it to 2.16 ghz. a)Either I try to install ML on this system as well and check but that would take close to an hour to install. 2)I had a corrupted osxNiresh Mavericks which I had downloaded and don't wish to download again .recently I created a fresh hackintosh using MacPwn from the site. Now when i create the file and try to install it the, installation is stuck with grey screen and an apple logo nothing happens. The corrupted Mavericks dmg file had the bootflag ivy -v which is absent in Macpwn program. How to I bring that and try to make an exact copy of the dmg that Niresh had made. What are the extras that the Niresh Distro has which is not present in Macpwn(Mavericks and Yosemite installation files were not downloaded from the app store). 3)Macpwn for Yosemite does not work for Amd i presume since I tried it.There is only a blank screen and dark or system restarts. Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks Cheer
  3. Hi I like to share my experience about installing Mavericks on vmware player/workstation that too on AMD APU.Now it is possible to install it but I used a completely different approach which managed to install OSX on VMware. Now i used windows 7 as guest configuration in vmware player instead of OSX guest config. Heres what I changed in settings. * 2 processor instead of 1 * disabled virtualization and can be enabled after installation . *Increased RAM to 2GB *Enabled 3D in display * Removed default HDD and added SATA HDD as virtual drive. when in boot mode I used AMD/AMD 64 -v The Hardware for me was AMD APU A-4 6300 with MSI A55M-E33 with 4gb Ram and Samsung Laptop with A-6 3420 M and 8gb Ram. Installation was successful on both APUS's with different boot flags but took hell lot of time ,nearly 2 hours. The mouse has given me big problem on both APU's.On laptop the mouse would not point correctly. If i want to close an app it cannot happen as the pointer has a different invisible location which I could not find. Most likely happend after the Niresh was configuring post installation. On the desktop APU mouse was again the culprit. The mouse again was not responding. It was opening apps which I did not even select. Was going round and round in circles. This time I had non control over the mouse .I can see the desktop but can't do anything .Took close to 1 hour to install. At the present moment had enough of installing on Vmware. On Virtual box have been unsuccesful right now. Will not attempt it any further but lession learnt don't waste time on vmware, install on real pc with either AMD or intel and see the success rate. But saying that older hardware is a big problem for Mavericks as well Installation failed on Intel celeron as well.Actually only ivy-v was booting on celeron 1.8ghz and P5GC-1333 MX motherboard with 4gb RAM.No other bootflag worked and returned panic message. The installation time was 17 minutes and installation failed and restarted.Had to use windows bootable to start windows 7 again.Made two attempts with different configurations after boot flag success but all time installtion failed at exactly the same time. There are some steps that I might be missing but it is not worth the time to install MAC osx if it does not work. Alot of time and patience is needed. For those who want to use virtualization one method can be what I used. Thanks and cheers!!!
