  1. Sierra Waiting For Root Device (PLS HELP!) Hey guy this is really frustrating! I've tried to install sierra on my Alienware Aurora R4 and all I get when trying to install is waiting for root device. PLS HELP NOOB ALERT! It's a bootable clover usb version with sierra. This is the guide I've used: http://kodipt.blogspot.de/2016/10/mac-os-sierra-hackintosh-windows-10.html Specs: Dell Alienware Aurora R4 Nvidia GTX-680 Intel i7-3820 btw. these are my bootflags: npci=0x2000 -v USBBusFix=Yes cpus=1
  2. OSX compatibility with Laptops - will it (most likely) work on these? Hi everyone, I'd like to buy a new laptop, but I'm not satisfied by the performance/price ratio offered by Apple. I do not need a great machine, but I'd like a medium performance for a price that isn't way too high (around 1000€, max. 1400-1500€). However I really love OSX... and that's why I'm asking here. By the way, I really don't know much about hardware. So some of the machines I'm considering are the following: Lenovo Ideapad Y700 Gigabyte P55W v5 Asus Rog GL552VW-DH71 Alienware 17 (first/second ones from the left) Alienware 13 (999.99$ one, which is the second from the left) Thank you very much! If you need more information or anything, just let me know. feflop
  3. Hello, I've installed Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my Alienware X51. In the beginning i had many problems like Reboot Loop but i solved it with the Haswell Kernel and the npci=0x2000 Flag. Then i installed it. And the next problem was the Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport Error when i booted into OSX Yosemite. I fixed it by removing the Kext from the IntelHD Driver. And the next problem was that it was stuck at the [IOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed screen. Then i fixed it but after i configured my Hackintosh a Kernel Panic appeared. See in the attached Photo. And sorry for my Bad English. I'm from Germany. Hope you can Help me!
  4. Is there a guide that will help me dual boot between Windows 10 and OS X 10.10.x on my Alienware 17 R2 (2015)? Specs: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz, 2501 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date Alienware A02, 2/11/2015 BIOS Mode UEFI Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB Graphics: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970M Help is very much appreciated!
  5. I followed the Alienware tutorial here https://www.hackintosh.zone/forums/topic/3861-alienware-17-r5-tutorial/ Did everything to spec. The creator has the same laptop specs as me as well. My config: Alienware 17 i7 4800qm 780m GTX 16 GB Ram BCM43xx Wifi Killer e2200 Network Card It boots, but didn't have any sound and the 780m GTX cards fan was on high as soon as it started. I have installed all of the Kext files with kextwizard. Then I tried to update it using the bundled update 10.9.1...10.9.5.(this was after Niresh's files were done being modified by the system). When It called for a restart I restarted it and it restarts immediately. Then I tried -x -v. It wouldn't even try to work for me. It restarted so fast that i couldn't even see where it failed, but I'm assuming it's the kernel. SO what I did was reinstall and save the kernel and kexts. I updated and replaced my kernel and kexts and it restarts with no flags and will freeze at GeForceSensors (pci1): started. Nothing more happens and I let it sit there for a good 20-30 minutes. Then I removed all Geforce kexts. It freezes at Resetting IOCatalogue. I am at a loss. I need it updated at least to 10.9.3. Any ideas?
  6. Hi, I have an existing Niresh Mavericks Hackintosh running on an M17xR1. Thats the 1st Gen after Dell bought them over. I have earlier been able to use the Mavericks installer with the following bootargs - npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1GraphicsEnabler=No -v This time however I am constantly struggling having tried a vanilla install several times and in several different ways. I finally Came back to the HackintoshZone(Niresh) installer since its my comfort zone. So far I've tried with and without VT activated with and without all npci options and PCIRoot options along with combinations of USBBusFix and GraphicsEnabler along with pointing to a 5,5 SMBIOS on another partition. I can't seem to be able to get around past the initial boot screen. The device either locks up at the PCI config or on a CPU Panic. Most of the time this is caused by ACPI debugger panic. I do not see anyway to modify the Hackintosh Zone disk. (or i haven't figured it out yet). Though i did manage to unhide and figure out which SMBIOS the installer looks at. My Specs are as follows - Alienware M17xR1 CPU - Core2Quad Q9300 Extreme RAM - 4x2 (8gb) Kingston Twin Seagate 500GB drives - RAID disabled (One has Linux Mint the other is the old Mavericks install) Motherboard - nVidia MCP79(9300 Onboard) Graphics - nVidia 9300 onboard (used only for installation) 2x280M(1GB) SLi(Dell nVidia) Synaptics Trackpad Panasonic Battery Seiko-Epson 1900x1200 LVDS display CA01N BD-Drive Notes - There is no UEFI/EFI mode. BIOS is set to VT off normally. SLi is always on. onboard nVidia card is only used for installation as the other cards are faster and let me use CUDA OpenCL.

Booting using: -x -v gives the same problem. Booting using: amd64 -v gives me this error: BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 no such file or directory Booting using: amd64 -vx still give the same error If i use an external HDMI monitor; it get stuck immediately after choosing to boot DVD.
