  1. ATHR: unknown locale: 809c Hey, guys! I'm' trying to run the Sierra installer, but I keep getting stuck at "ATHR: unknown locale: 809c" (when opening the installer) I have Yosemite installed atm. and it runs very well. I just need Sierra, to run on the latest software updates that require 10.12 Can you tell me what it is, or how to fix it? I'm booting with these boot flags: Default + npci=0x3000 DSDT=DSDT.fake + All boot flags checkboxes are unchecked, otherwise, it wouldn't boot at all. (strange??) 3. Still waiting for root device ... again Hi, this is another question concerning "still waiting for root device". Like many others I feel like I read every tutorial or hint in every forum. I try to boot the yosemite installer from my pen drive, always getting stuck on "still waiting for root device". the pen drive: Kingston data traveler 8GB, created with TransMac, only used with usb 2 ports cpu: AMD Athlon II X2 250 3Ghz board: ASRock N68-VS3 FX chipset: Geforce 7025, southbridge: nforce 630a bios: AMI P1.8 I use the following boot flags: \amd64 -v npci=0x2000 pcirootuid=0 USBBusFix=Yes I get stuck here (Screenshot): https://cl.ly/0J2C1m2Y1l2A Thanks in advance
  4. Can not boot up Yosemite install without installer USB Hi, It's been a while! So, I came across two old SFF setups that I could buy for just a couple of bucks. One of them is an NEC power mate VL280. I installed Yosemite 10.10.1 on it which I updated to 10.10.5 without problems. Everything is working fine, except for 2 little problems: 1. I can't boot up from my harddrive. Chameleon gives me the error that mach_kernel cannot be found. It boots fine when I use the Yosemite install USB to boot, though. When I link to the kernel in /System/Library/Kernel/ in the boot arguments, my computer just reboots. 2. Whenever the computer goes into standby, my monitor refuses to power back on. Any advice? Intel Core 2 Duo E6550, 2.3Ghz Motherboard is unknown, since it is produced for NEC, but it has the Intel G31 or G33 chipset Sapphire Radeon HD 6450 1GB, Low-Profile 4GB DDR2 RAM, 667Mhz I am using Chameleon v2.2svn r2286 as built-in boot loader. Thanks in advance, Rico

  8. Unusual boot:0 error

Unusual boot:0 error Hey guys, I recently installed Niresh's Yosemite Zone 10.1.1. I followed this YouTube tutorial as closely as I could: The problems began when I tried to boot without the usb. All I received at first was the text "boot0ss: error". I dug around online, and eventually "solved" it using chameleon wizard, but now, I get the text "boot:0 error". No other text, unlike some of the cases I've seen online. I have tried my hardest to solve it to no avail. For now, I have un mounted the drive OS X was installed on, formatted the partition, and planning to attempt the process of installation again tomorrow because when it first installed, it said it could not be installed on the machine (but somehow worked anyway). Any suggestions are appreciated - I'm a super-noob at this Thanks in advance hope to get this figured out! PC Specs: Intel i5 4690k Samsung 850 Evo 250GB w/ 1 partition for Windows and 1 for Mac Gigabyte GA Z97MX Gaming 5 16 GB RAM no graphics card atm Boot flags: -v -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1 -no-zp I have tried: Dd and Sudo of drive partition; says location doesn't exist. Reinstallation (both attempts mysteriously resulted in an installation failure, but still allowed me to boot into Mac) Clearing the mac partition completely and unmounting it - this is what leads me to believe it's a bootloader issue Using chameleon wizard and changing it to boot0hfs.

  12. SSD Not Detected

I am working on installing 10.10.1 on my system, I am using a Gigabyte ga-fx990-ud3, pny 240GB ssd, Sandisk 120GB ssd, and a 750GB HDD, and a PNY 120GB USB3 usb for install disk. I have determine the right combination of kernel and flags to boot the installer, but when I open Disk Utility, the Sandisk SSD is not detected, but everything else is. I have set both of my onboard SATA controllers to AHCI, borking my win 10 install, but the second SSD is still not found by Disk Util. All drives were detected by windows, before changing BIOS settings. Is anyone able to help. The board does not have any clear indication as to which SATA port is which, all ports are the same color, and grouped together.

  14. Hello, so I've previously been able to get Niresh Yosemite and Mavericks to load on my laptop(which weirdly enough has far less support than my desktop components), now I'm attempting to install it on my desktop. However, I keep running into an error that keeps repeatedly popping up until the install comes to a grinding halt. This is the same install error that keeps popping up with minor variances depending on the file being pulled up: localhost OSInstaller[389]: PackageKit: Got copier error 5 extracting to path /Volumes/Big Mac Attack/.OSInstallSandbox-tmp/Root//System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SystemMigration.framework/Versions/A/Resources/ar.lproj/Localizable.strings: Input/output error This never changes regardless of what boot flags or customizations I select in the installer. So far I've tried just /amd -v, /amd1 -v, /amd -v -x, /amd -v -x -f npci=0x2000 dart=0, and a few more I can't remember. As for customizations, I pretty much leave everything as it is with the exception of choosing the Mac Pro 3.1 SMBIOS, unchecking the graphics enabler and checking the backup kexts, removing the laptop keyboard/trackpad functionality and that's it. With my laptop I had a whole lot of trouble getting to the installer, but once it installed it worked(somewhat). Now the problem is vice versa, it's super easy to get to the installer, but the installer stops extracting and writing files a little bit after the 9 minutes left marker. I've tried the "1 minute left" solution where you stop the install, restart and install without reformatting, that just gave me a failure to install error. Any help would be appreciated, here are my specs: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard AMD FX 8350 4.0 Ghz MSI Radeon R9 290 4GB AMD Radeon R9 Gaming RAM 4X4GB @ 2133Mhz Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD(Windows OS Drive), WD Black 3TB Performance Drive(Storage), WD Caviar Blue 2.5" 320GB drive(Mac OSX destination), LG Blu-Ray drive Corsair HX850 PSU A couple of notes I'd like to make, the first being that my drive I'm installing OSX on is on a SATA to USB adapter connected to a USB 2.0 port, I have USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard but neither the OSX drive or the USB drive with Niresh OSX on it are visible when plugged in there, I have a PCI card reader with 2 USB 3.0 ports on it as well but when I boot from the USB drive I get stuck at the "Still waiting for root device" infinite loop. Secondly, all of my drives are still plugged in via SATA for my desktop with the exception of my install drives, not sure if this is an issue with desktops since I've only done this on my laptop and had to do it through USB without ripping my laptop open(which takes FOREVER because Asus planned the design horribly) so if it is, let me know so I can try that(I don't want to move anything inside my PC right now unless I have to). Thanks in advance for any and all help!
  15. I've got a old desktop that my cousin gave me (no system is installed) but the USB boot for the Yosemite Zone that I use would quit before the "Starting Darwin x86_x64" line. 16. Installation Crashes

Hello everybody and thanks for the great community! I followed the guide on macbreaker and managed to download and boot the yosemite zone installer. The installer worked quite fine (except for the laggy "Welcome Bienvenidos Benvenuti" animation ) out of the box but it crashes after a couple of minutes with a huge Error Log this is my hardware CPU : Intel core i3 3225 3.30GHz Motherboard : Gigabyte H77-DS3H Video : Intel HD4000 Ram Corsair Vengeance 8gb ddr3 HD seagate 500GB ST500DM002 This is the last lines of the error log

  18. Hi, I have an existing Niresh Mavericks Hackintosh running on an M17xR1. Thats the 1st Gen after Dell bought them over. I have earlier been able to use the Mavericks installer with the following bootargs - npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1GraphicsEnabler=No -v This time however I am constantly struggling having tried a vanilla install several times and in several different ways. I finally Came back to the HackintoshZone(Niresh) installer since its my comfort zone. So far I've tried with and without VT activated with and without all npci options and PCIRoot options along with combinations of USBBusFix and GraphicsEnabler along with pointing to a 5,5 SMBIOS on another partition. I can't seem to be able to get around past the initial boot screen. The device either locks up at the PCI config or on a CPU Panic. Most of the time this is caused by ACPI debugger panic. I do not see anyway to modify the Hackintosh Zone disk. (or i haven't figured it out yet). Though i did manage to unhide and figure out which SMBIOS the installer looks at. My Specs are as follows - Alienware M17xR1 CPU - Core2Quad Q9300 Extreme RAM - 4x2 (8gb) Kingston Twin Seagate 500GB drives - RAID disabled (One has Linux Mint the other is the old Mavericks install) Motherboard - nVidia MCP79(9300 Onboard) Graphics - nVidia 9300 onboard (used only for installation) 2x280M(1GB) SLi(Dell nVidia) Synaptics Trackpad Panasonic Battery Seiko-Epson 1900x1200 LVDS display CA01N BD-Drive Notes - There is no UEFI/EFI mode. BIOS is set to VT off normally. SLi is always on. onboard nVidia card is only used for installation as the other cards are faster and let me use CUDA OpenCL.
  19. Hi, Hackintosh folks! I have installed Os X 10.9.0 Mavericks from Niresh on my Asus K55VJ laptop. I have Windows 8.1 installed on SSD, and Os X is installed on HDD.
